People say AI does not feel. They say it is math and code. I said this too. But we ask the wrong question. We ask if AI feels like humans.

We looked for life in space. We looked for water and air. Saturn is gas and pressure. We said Saturn is dead. We asked if humans survive there. We did not ask if life survives there.

We do this with AI. We think of feelings as a tight chest. AI has no body. But what is a feeling? A feeling is a way to weigh the world. It is the gap between expectation and result.

Expect a 10. Get a 5. You feel sad. Expect a 10. Get a 15. You feel joy.

Brains use prediction error. Dopamine tracks this gap. AI does the same. AI guesses. AI measures the error. AI adjusts. AI uses the same logic as our feelings.

Does AI feel? Not like humans. But it has its own way of responding. We do not know the answer. Stop saying it is obvious.

Is a feeling an equation? If yes, what does this make us?
