Indian equity markets closed mixed on Wednesday, June 10. The BSE Sensex added 64.42 points, or 0.09%, to close at 73,983.18 after touching an intraday high of 74,613.01 before falling. The NSE Nifty dropped 27.15 points, or 0.12%, to finish at 23,214.95. The Nifty hit a session high of 23,425.35 and a low of 23,184.60.

Renewed hostilities between the United States and Iran hurt investor sentiment. Analysts said geopolitical risks weakened global markets.

Asian markets ended lower. The Kospi in South Korea fell 4.52% and the Nikkei 225 in Japan dropped 1.89%. The Hang Seng in Hong Kong and the Shanghai Composite in China also closed down. European markets traded lower, while US markets ended mostly weaker on Tuesday.

Foreign institutional investors sold equities worth Rs 4,566.03 crore on Tuesday. Brent crude fell 0.20% to USD 91.27 per barrel.

On June 9, the Sensex rose 394.50 points to 73,918.76 and the Nifty gained 119.10 points to finish at 23,242.10.
