I lost many users in my AI plugin.

AI compute costs money. The bill lands in a wallet. Either you pay or your user pays.

If you pay, you risk losing money. If the user pays, they feel fear.

Here is how to fix this:

• Give a free trial.
• Let users see the tool work first.
• Use their own API keys.
• Set a daily limit on requests.
• Add a wait time between messages.
• Use cheap models for easy questions.
• Only use strong models for hard tasks.
• Show an estimated cost on screen.

Transparency removes anxiety. Users do not fear the price. They fear the unknown.

Design your plugin with the user wallet in mind.
