I Built My Own AI Notification Character

I am not a developer. Yet I built a custom AI notification character without writing one line of code.

I use a tool called Peon Ping. It sends sounds and animations when my AI assistant finishes a task or hits an error. The default character is an orc. It says "Work, work!"

I did not like the orc.

I tried to make a JARVIS style assistant. It failed. The voice was too fast. It felt like an English exam instead of a helpful assistant.

So I built Michelle. She is a character from my AI web drama. She is now the face of my Peon Ping notifications.

I planned four specific states for her:

  • Session Start: Relaxed and drinking coffee.
  • Loading: Waiting with her head on the desk.
  • Complete: A big smile and a V-sign.
  • Error: Panicked with her head in her hands.

I used Nano Banana to generate the images using only text descriptions. I used Kling to turn those still images into videos with subtle movements. I converted the videos into GIFs for the notification window.

Next, I handled the voice. I wrote Korean lines for each state. I used ElevenLabs to generate the audio. I set the tool to play lines randomly so she does not sound repetitive.

Some examples of her lines:

  • Task Complete: "Mission complete. Did I do well?"
  • Error: "This should not be happening."
  • Loading: (Quietly waiting)
  • Input Required: "It is your turn."
  • Session Start: "Online. What should we start with?"

This project used no complex code. I just talked to AI tools. I described my vision and built it piece by piece.

I did not need a high tech laboratory. I just wanted a comfortable companion to watch over my work.

You do not need to be a developer to create things. You only need to know how to talk to AI.
