In Delhi, a 14.2-kg LPG cylinder now costs Rs 942. The previous price was Rs 913. The hike follows a Rs 60 increase on March 7. Global energy costs have climbed after conflicts in the Middle East disrupted supplies.
State-run oil companies faced losses of around Rs 703 per cylinder before this price adjustment.

Industry sources say oil firms still sell petrol and diesel at a loss. The estimated loss is Rs 11 per litre on petrol and Rs 33.6 per litre on diesel. The government has taken on part of the cost through state-owned retailers.
The Middle East conflict has lasted more than three months. It started on February 28 after the US and Israel launched strikes on Iran. Iran then limited access to the Strait of Hormuz. This channel carries 20% of global energy supplies. The disruption has pushed global crude oil past $100 per barrel. Prices stood at $70 before the conflict began.
