Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri confirmed India has sufficient energy reserves. The statement addresses concerns regarding the Iran conflict.

Domestic LPG production increased from 32,000 metric tonnes per day to 54,000 metric tonnes per day. This increase reduces the need for imports.

- Sri Lanka petrol prices: Up 66 per cent
- France petrol prices: Up 47 per cent

- India petrol prices: Down 3.1 per cent
The Indian government reduced excise duty on petrol and diesel three times to lower costs. One recent reduction of 10 rupees per litre cost the budget 1 lakh crore rupees.
Alternative fuel expansion:
- Current E85 fuel pumps in National Capital Region: 47
- Target E85 fuel pumps by December 2026: 500
- Target E85 fuel pumps by December 2027: 5,000
The government is also encouraging LPG users to switch to piped natural gas.
Regarding the deaths of three Indian seafarers during a US military strike in the Gulf of Oman, India lodged a formal protest. The Ministry of External Affairs summoned the US Charge d'Affaires twice.
