HomeLane Eyes India IPO Within Two Years to Fuel Rapid Expansion

India’s leading home interiors platform, HomeLane, has announced plans to launch its Initial Public Offering (IPO) within the next 12 to 24 months. Supported by heavyweights like Peak XV Partners and Accel, the Bengaluru-based startup aims to leverage the capital to scale its geographic footprint and diversify into new product categories.

Strategic Expansion and Product Diversification

HomeLane is positioning itself to capture a massive share of India's evolving home decor market. The company intends to use the IPO proceeds to expand its presence in new cities and move beyond core modular furniture. CEO Srikanth Iyer revealed plans to enter adjacent categories, including kitchen appliances such as chimneys and hobs, as well as soft furnishings. This expansion strategy may involve a mix of in-house product development and strategic acquisitions, following the company's recent acquisition of rival Design Cafe in 2024.

Leveraging AI for Operational Efficiency

A core pillar of HomeLane’s growth strategy is the integration of advanced technology to drive margins. The company is significantly stepping up investments in Artificial Intelligence to streamline the design process. Currently, AI has enabled employees to generate design options in minutes rather than days, which has successfully trimmed design costs by 25%. Furthermore, the implementation of these technologies has contributed to a 1.5% to 2% reduction in overall operational costs, providing a technological edge over traditional competitors like Godrej Interio.

Financial Trajectory and Market Readiness

Despite recent volatility in the Indian IPO market caused by geopolitical tensions and foreign outflows, HomeLane is focusing on internal fundamentals to ensure a successful listing. The company is targeting profitability and has set ambitious revenue milestones.

According to Tracxn data, HomeLane's fiscal 2025 revenue grew by 22% to ₹7.56 billion, while its net loss narrowed to ₹1.11 billion from ₹1.22 billion in the previous year. The company expects to post revenue of ₹10 billion this fiscal year and aims to reach a staggering ₹30 billion by fiscal 2031. With a valuation of approximately ₹27.60 billion as of September 2025, the company's roadmap is built on the premise that consistent quarter-on-quarter profitability will allow it to list successfully regardless of market sentiment.

The Massive Opportunity in Indian Interiors

The timing of HomeLane's IPO coincides with a structural shift in Indian consumer behavior. Driven by rising disposable incomes, rapid urbanization, and the "visual inspiration" era led by platforms like Instagram and Pinterest, the Indian interior design market is poised for explosive growth. Data from P&S Intelligence suggests the market could more than double, reaching an estimated $81.2 billion by 2030 from its 2024 levels.
