SBI Research shared these numbers in its latest Ecowrap report. Private investment announcements hit Rs 56 lakh crore in FY26. This is up from Rs 37 lakh crore in FY25.

Total investment announcements grew steadily in recent years. The amount rose from Rs 17 lakh crore in FY19 to Rs 80 lakh crore in FY26.

Sectors leading new investment proposals in FY26:

• Manufacturing: 28.9%
• Power: 28.7%
• Building infrastructure: 23.1%

Gross fixed capital formation grew 10.8% in the fourth quarter of FY26. This metric tracks investment activity.

Corporate assets also expanded. The gross block of over 5,000 listed companies increased from Rs 87 lakh crore in March 2022 to Rs 145 lakh crore in March 2026. Indian companies added more than Rs 13 lakh crore to their gross block each year on average in the last five years.
