Privacy matters when you travel. Hidden cameras in hotel rooms create serious risks. You should check your room as soon as you arrive.
Follow these steps to secure your space:
Use your phone flashlight. Turn off the lights. Shine your light around the room. Look for small glass reflections or lens glints.
Check common objects. Look inside smoke detectors, clocks, and USB chargers. Inspect alarm clocks and power outlets.
Inspect mirrors. Place your finger against the glass. If there is a gap between your finger and your reflection, the mirror is two-sided. If your finger touches your reflection directly, it is a standard mirror.
Scan your Wi-Fi network. Use a network scanning app. Look for unknown devices connected to the hotel router.
Check for unusual wires. Look for cables in places where they do not belong.
Staying alert keeps you safe.
