I read the letter from Pope Leo XIV on AI. As a developer, I wanted to know more. AI moves fast. Rules move slow.
The main point is simple. Build smart machines. But remember the goal. These tools must serve people.
AI is a turning point. It is like the industrial revolution. It changes how you work. It changes how you decide.
Technology is not the enemy. It helps in health and science. The risk is in how you use it.
AI predicts and generates. It does not have a conscience. It has no sense of right or wrong.
AI gives answers. It does not take responsibility for the results.
You delegate a task to a machine. You do not delegate your responsibility.
Watch for these risks:
- Power in too few hands.
- Too much automation.
- Bias in code.
- Fake news.
- Treating people as data.
Do not ask what AI is able to do. Ask what it should do.
We talk about GPUs and speed. We do not talk about critical thinking. A society using AI without understanding it is at risk.
Measure AI by how it helps human dignity. Do not measure it only by speed.
We build the strongest tools of our time. We must not forget the human.
