Minister Pralhad Joshi launched WT-MARUT on Monday. This platform manages the wind energy supply chain in India.
Key details of the platform:
- Tracks wind energy components from factories to project sites.
- Increases traceability and accountability.
- Ensures compliance across the supply chain.
India wind energy statistics:
- Added 6.1 GW of new wind capacity in 2025-26.
- Total installed capacity exceeds 56.1 GW.
- India ranks as the fourth-largest wind energy market globally.
- Current capacity uses less than 5% of the estimated 1,164 GW wind potential.
Future targets:
- 100 GW of wind installations by 2030.
- 155 GW of wind installations by 2035.
- 500 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030.
- Net-zero goal by 2070.
The minister also released three reports on manufacturing, project development, and power system planning.
