I switched between Cursor and Claude Code every two weeks. It was tiring. My work speed dropped.
I read a report on 48 junior developers in Australia. They used AI tools for one year. They spent 65 dollars a month. PR time dropped by 1.1 days. The return on investment is high.
I now use an 80/20 split.
- Cursor stays in the editor. It handles Tab completion and quick changes.
- Claude Code stays in the terminal. It handles big refactors and debugging.
Stop worrying about token costs. The time you save is worth more.
Skip Trae from ByteDance. Reports say it lags.
This setup works for me. I will use it until a better tool arrives.
