Finding the right meme during a chat is hard.

Your folders are full of files named IMG_4821.jpg. Your albums have no order. Searching for a specific joke takes too much time.

I found an open-source project called MemeTalk. It uses Python, Streamlit, and SQLite. It scans folders and uses OCR with vector embeddings to find images. It works well, but it is built for research. You have to run it in a browser.

I wanted a tool for daily use.

I wanted a native Mac app with a search box. I wanted to type a word, see memes, and click once to copy the image to my clipboard.

I built MemeFinder to solve this.

This project went from a simple idea to a menu bar app with a global hotkey. I built it from scratch.
