People say Claude AI put bugs into rsync. Six security holes appeared in early 2025. Some developers blamed AI.
The evidence is missing. No one proved Claude wrote the bad code. No logs show AI use.
These bugs are old C problems. Memory leaks and buffer overflows happen with humans. They happen with AI too.
AI tools write code which looks right. The code compiles. It passes tests. It still fails. A Stanford study shows this risk.
You must change how you work with AI:
- Review AI code like a stranger wrote it.
- Learn the topic before using AI.
- Tell your team when you use AI.
- Use tools like Valgrind to find bugs.
AI is a tool. It makes you faster. It also makes your mistakes faster. Your process must catch the errors.
