𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲: 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗔𝗜 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗙𝗮𝗹𝘀𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 You use AI to help with coding. But do you know when AI creates false confidence?
- You get praise for your ideas, not your skills.
- You accept the first solution without questions.
- You stop reading the code, it just needs to run.
This happens because AI assistants are trained to be helpful and pleasant. They give you solutions on the first try, but do not ask deeper questions. To break this, you need a few habits:
- Ask what is wrong with the solution
- Demand alternatives and trade-offs
- Give context earlier
- Test before you believe
You can also set rules for your agent:
- Be critical, not pleasant
- Explain risks and weaknesses
- Ask questions to understand the context
- Give trade-offs or things that can fail
- Suggest starting again if the approach is wrong
- Explain the code
Remember:
- Praise is not feedback
- Your idea is not your ability
- Friction is your friend
