𝗣𝗠-𝗞𝗶𝘀𝗮𝗻 𝟮𝟯𝗿𝗱 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗯𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release the 23rd instalment of the PM-Kisan scheme on June 20. The transfer involves Rs 18,880 crore for 9.44 crore farmers.
Key details of the disbursement:
- Total funds reach over Rs 4.46 lakh crore since the 2019 launch.
- West Bengal farmers receive Rs 907 crore.
- Cumulative payments in West Bengal exceed Rs 15,055 crore.
- Funds move through the Direct Benefit Transfer mechanism.
New agricultural initiatives in West Bengal:
- Launch of Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana and Restructured Weather-Based Crop Insurance Scheme.
- Combined insurance outlay equals Rs 12,200 crore.
- Government goal covers 1.10 crore farmers across 30 lakh hectares by 2026-27.
- Launch of the National Natural Farming Mission.
- Plan to establish 346 natural farming clusters covering 17,300 hectares in West Bengal.
- 43,250 farmers will receive training and bio-based inputs.
Digital and infrastructure developments:
- Launch of an Agri-Tech platform for fertiliser distribution and Kisan Credit Card services.
- Introduction of Pradhan Mantri Dhan-Dhanya Krishi Yojana in Purulia, Darjeeling, Alipurduar, and Jhargram.
- Focus on crop diversification and post-harvest storage.
- Inauguration of 49 rural road projects worth Rs 213 crore.
- Road projects cover more than 315 km to improve market access.
