Mamata Banerjee filed a petition in the Calcutta High Court on Tuesday. She is challenging the election results for the Bhabanipur assembly seat.
She lost this seat to Suvendu Adhikari from the BJP. Adhikari won by a margin of 15,105 votes.
TMC sources say she went to the high court registry to confirm the petition. This move comes during a difficult time for the Trinamool Congress.
