Google AI Overviews answer questions directly. Many think this kills directory sites. I disagree.
AI Overviews summarize text. They fail at three things:
- Attribute filters. Google gives paragraphs. I use structured fields for needs like offline access.
- Negative space. Google stays positive. I list why you should skip a tool.
- Freshness. Google lags. I track GitHub commits weekly.
I target the second search. You find a list via AI. Then you search for X vs Y. You want a verdict. Structured data beats prose for comparisons.
I launched three sites. The cost is 25 dollars a month. The risk is low.
The bet: One site will hit 200 organic clicks per month by October 2026. If I fail, I will post my Search Console screenshots. I will explain my error.
