Google AI Overviews answer many questions. You search for a tool. Google gives a list. You do not click a website.
I built three directory sites. I compete with the world's biggest search engine.
AI Overviews are good at lists. They fail at three things:
- Filtering. You want a tool with a mobile app and offline mode. AI gives a paragraph. My site gives a filter.
- Honest warnings. I tell you who should skip a tool. AI stays positive.
- Fresh data. I check GitHub commits weekly. I know if a tool is dead. AI lags.
I target the second search. You find two tools on Google. Then you search for Tool A vs Tool B. This is a research click. Structured data beats a paragraph.
I spend 25 dollars a month. I want 200 organic clicks per month by October 2026.
If I fail, I will share my data. I will explain my mistakes.
