AI models are becoming commodities. Engineering is not.

The industry spent two years focusing on models. We are reaching a point where the engineering around models matters more than the models themselves.

I spent time experimenting with new ways to build AI systems. I studied these four areas:

• Spec-Driven Development
• Harness Engineering
• Persistent Memory
• AI Agents

These methods change how you build. You stop focusing on the model and start focusing on the system.
