𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗢𝗽𝘀 𝗗𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘃𝗮 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲
I attended my first DevOps Days Geneva recently. I spent time at the Camptocamp booth and attended several talks.
The event had many people. Many students attended to talk with companies at the booths.
The schedule focused heavily on AI. Most talks were varied, but some lacked technical depth. Some speakers shared results without explaining the technical steps. This was a missed opportunity for a DevOps conference.
Here are the talks I found most useful:
Digital Sovereignty in Europe Many European companies use US cloud providers. These providers use European subsidiaries to meet local rules. However, the US CLOUD Act means geographical location does not guarantee legal independence. Digital sovereignty in 2026 requires understanding legal dependencies, not just where datacenters sit.
AI in Recruitment Recruiters now use AI to find candidates. You need an up-to-date CV with high-quality information. The AI relies on this data to identify you.
AI in Defensive Security AI affects security in three ways:
- LLMs find vulnerabilities in software faster. You must secure software more strictly.
- Chatbots using LLMs need protection based on OWASP guidelines.
- AI agents can leak sensitive data if you do not use them carefully. In security competitions like CTFs, participants now use AI to solve challenges. Future competitions might score people based on how efficiently they use AI tokens.
Marmotte AI Project The cities of Chambéry and Shawinigan built a chatbot using RAG for staff work. The first version provided lower quality results than ChatGPT. The team learned how to improve the product through this process.
I also joined an OpenSpace discussion on optimizing sovereign AI.
Scaling AI infrastructure is difficult. It is hard to predict how many GPUs you need. Factors like prompt complexity, model size, and latency create too much variability for a universal sizing method. Additionally, GPU prices are rising and delivery times are long.
